August 11th Meeting: ONE Conference Review

 Hello Fellow Pumpers!

We look forward to seeing you in person if you're in the San Diego area or remotely via Zoom.

Check out our newsletter and diabetes resources on our blog at sdinsulinpumpers.blogspot.com.

IN PERSON: We hold our in-person meeting at the Sharp Spectrum Building in Kearny Mesa at 8695 Spectrum Center Drive from 7–9 pm. We have a new meeting space at the Sharp Spectrum building. Starting in January 2025 we moved to a new boardroom on the left side of the main lobby. It has an outside direct entrance from the parking lot. The room will open at 6:30 pm for visiting before the meeting. The walkway to the outside entrance is located in front of the handicap parking and has a railing along the sidewalk.

VIA ZOOM: Please join us via Zoom if you can't attend in person. The meeting link is posted below.
As always, significant others, friends, and family supporters are welcome at the meeting.

We hold our meetings on the 2nd Monday of every month from 7-9 pm.

Volunteers Needed

The newsletter will not be emailed until a volunteer can take over the newsletter distribution. Starting in June the newsletter will be posted on the blog, sdinsulinpumpers.blogspot.com by the 5th each month. It will include the meeting information and Zoom link. We need help managing the distribution of our monthly pump club newsletter. A volunteer is creating a new mailing list which should be available for use by September. We still need a volunteer to take on the emailing the monthly newsletter. This task could be shared among more than one person. Newsletter distribution is done the first week of every month, usually by the 5th. Contact Margi with any questions margit7@att.net.

THIS MONTH: Open Discussion and sharing highlights of the ONE Conference. Bring your questions and concerns.

LAST MONTH: Tara Stantz MS RD, CDCES Principal Clinical Territory Manager, San Diego Territory spoke on the latest with Medtronic pumps. A new Territory Manager, Mark Hutchinson, has started work. Check out the Medtronic page on blog for all contact information for Mark and Tara. The 780G Pump has 7-day infusion sets and auto corrects every 5 minutes. The Guardian 4 sensor now has fewer alarms and needs no calibration. Also, it will no longer exit out of AID. Auto corrections start at 120 BG. Contact Tara for clinical support for all Medtronic pump users.

For Pumpers attending the One Conference we will have table space in the Sponsor Lounge. Do you have diabetic supplies you do not need that you would like to pass on? Please bring them on Friday afternoon to the Sponsor Lounge after 3 pm. If the supplies are not taken by 1 pm on Saturday you will need to collect as I have no space to store supplies. Supplies brought to meetings need to go home with you if not passed on to another pumper. Contact Margi at margit7@att.com if you need any supplies.
