Hello Fellow Pumpers!
We look forward to seeing you in person if you are in the San Diego area or via Zoom.
Check out our newsletter and diabetes resources on our blog at sdinsulinpumpers.blogspot.com.
IN PERSON: We hold our in-person meeting at the Sharp Spectrum Building in Kearny Mesa at 8695 Spectrum Center Drive from 7–9 pm. We have a new meeting space at the Sharp Spectrum building. Starting in January 2025 we moved to a new boardroom. It is on the left side of the main lobby and has an outside direct entrance from the parking lot. The room will open at 6:30 pm for visiting before the meeting. The walkway to the outside entrance is located in front of the handicap parking and has a railing along the sidewalk.
VIA ZOOM: Please join us via Zoom if you can't attend in person. The meeting link is posted below. As always, significant others, friends, and family supporters are welcome at the meeting.
We hold our meetings on the 2nd Monday of every month from 7–9 pm.

THIS MONTH: Mark Hutchinson, Medtronic Territory Manager, and Tara Stanz MS RD, CDCES will update us on the Medtronic Pump.
Medtronic has partnered with the Libre sensor. Bring your questions! We will have Open Discussion if there is time after the presentation.
LAST MONTH: Max Roberts, Diabetes Sales Specialist from Abbott, updated us on the latest with Libre sensors. The Libre 2 sensor has partnered with the Omni Pod while the Libre 3 partners with the Tandem t:slim, ILet, Medtronic, and Twist pumps. The sensors have a 15-day life span, with a one-hour warm up period. A phone app is available for the iPhone and watch models with OS10 and above.
The Libre sensor reads every minute and stores the BG data on the sensor. The data automatically downloads to the iPhone when in range. Check with your insurance to see if you can order Libre sensors through your DME or pharmacy benefits. Cash price for a one-month supply of two sensors with co/pay is $74.99. Libre 3 sensors have a 94.4% rate of lasting 15 days with no cap for sensor replacements. Diabetes education can be scheduled by appointment on Zoom. The scheduling link is on our blog.

Volunteer Needed
A volunteer is needed to take over the newsletter distribution. We need help managing the distribution of our monthly pump club newsletter. The new mailing list is now available. This task could be shared among more than one person. Newsletter distribution is done the first week of every month, usually by the 5th. Contact Margi with any questions margit7@att.net.

The T1D to 100 website is a new space created by and for people with Type 1 diabetes who are navigating the realities of aging—seeking support, sharing insights, using tools to feel more prepared, and living well.
We are here to provide trusted information—from practical tips and tools, long-term planning solutions, insights for emotional wellness and coping, to real-life stories that lift you up and help you navigate the uncertain path of aging. We also raise our voices to help researchers and healthcare professionals better understand what we need for improved care and quality of life.

Grownup T1Ds
Our Motto: Community first. Diabetes second.
Check out our website (grownupt1ds.org) for events in So Cal, Denver, and Boston. The next Grownup T1D’s in-person meetup for adults living with Type 1 diabetes is in San Diego County.
Our next meeting:
Sunday, February 22 at 1:00 PM
Hooley’s Public House
5500 Grossmont Center Drive
La Mesa, CA 91942
If you can make it, please RSVP to kelly@grownupt1ds.org so we can plan accordingly.
Our afternoons are relaxed, welcoming, and genuinely uplifting — the kind where conversations flow easily, laughter comes quickly, and you leave feeling lighter than when you arrived. No agenda. No presentations. Just real connection with people who truly understand life with T1D.
If you’ve joined us before, you know how special these gatherings are. If you’ve been thinking about coming for the first time, this is a wonderful place to start. Many first timers tell us how meaningful it is to finally sit across from others who just get it. Come solo or bring someone along! We hope you’ll join us for good conversation, a few laughs, and yes — alarms included.
