Tandem + FreeStyle Libre

Tandem + FreeStyle Libre is OFFICIAL!   Our t:slim X2 insulin pump is officially the first automated insulin delivery system in the U.S. to integrate with Abbott’s Freestyle Libre 2 Plus CGM system! For the first time, FreeStyle Libre CGM users will be able to experience the therapeutic benefits of Tandem with Control-IQ technology.  Whether a patient wants to use Dexcom or Libre, they can now access automated insulin delivery with a Tandem t:slim X2 insulin pump or Mobi (once available).

 

Things to know:

 

• Libre 2 PLUS does not require regular scanning.  The sensor will require one phone scan (from Tandem mobile app) to start, then will send glucose values directly to the pump every minute.   Abbott received FDA approval for automated insulin delivery use last year, but the 2 and the 3 needed modification to be pump compatible, that is where the 2 PLUS comes in. • Libre 2 PLUS will be available via the DME channel (see link below for available distributors)
• Libre 3 (PLUS) is in the works for integration with Tandem.

Tandem Mobi Pump with Patch

This is a very exciting time for patients interested in a pump with a patch! Patients can NOW place orders for the new Tandem Mobi pump with a patch. Here is a link to the flyer for interested parties: Tandem Mobi Flyer. It is 7% smaller than other patch pumps.This new product in the Tandem portfolio is a great option for patients who want:

• to wear a pump on a patch.

•  to use an iPhone to manage the pump, with the option to bolus from the pump.

• the option to be “untethered” and take off the pump for certain moments in life.

• customized glucose control with the trusted Control IQ.
