THIS MONTH: Conner Mariani, Territory Manager for Insulet/Omnipod will present Omnipod updates. Conner will join us in person. Bring your questions!

LAST MONTH: Rebecca Ponchetti, Tandem Clinical Diabetes Specialist and Type 1, spoke to us about the G7 software upgrade and the Mobi pump. Tandem t:slim X2 Pumps now partner with the Dexcom G6/G7 sensors and the Libre 2 sensor. The t:slim latest software upgrade includes a timer feature for exercise activity.

Helpful tip for using the G7 sensor: When a G7 sensor session "ends" you have a 12-hour grace period before it actually stops reading glucose values. This grace period lets you apply a new G7 sensor as soon as possible but not activate it. The new sensor will "warm up" and learn your blood sugars. Then, when the first sensor's 12-hour grace period ends, you activate the second sensor. The new G7 sensor, having warmed up, will immediately begin reporting your blood sugars. You will have eliminated the interval where you have no readings.

The Mobi pump is currently available with an IOS operating system through an iPhone. You can either wear the Mobi pump in a sleeve attached to your body with five inches of tubing, or with longer tubing in a case on your belt or in a pocket. The Mobi cartridge holds 200 units. Check out the Tandem page on our blog for links to Tandem resources and classes.
