September 9th Meeting: Open Discussion

Hello Fellow Pumpers!

Welcome to the new pumpers who signed up for our newsletter at the TCOYD One Conference! We look forward to seeing you in person if you live in the San Diego area or via Zoom if you live elsewhere. Check out the resources on our blog sdinsulinpumpers.blogspot.com.

Join us, in person or via Zoom, for our Monday, September 9th meeting. You can attend either in-person or via Zoom. We also post our newsletter on our blog sdinsulinpumpers.blogspot.com.

In person: We'll hold the in-person meeting at the Sharp Spectrum Building in Kearny Mesa at 8695 Spectrum Center Drive from 7–9 pm. We'll meet in the boardroom off the main lobby. The room will open at 6:30 pm for visiting before the meeting. The main entrance is locked at 6 pm so security will buzz us in through the side door off the lobby.

Via Zoom: Please join us via Zoom if you can't attend in person. The meeting link is posted below.

As always, significant others, friends, and family supporters are welcome at the meeting.

Our meetings are held the 2nd Monday of every month.

THIS MONTH:  Open Discussion — Bring your concerns and questions! We'll share the One Conference information with these that were unable to attend. For anyone that attended we hope you will share what was the most impactful for you from the conference.

LAST MONTH: Open discussion topics:

• iLet Pumps. Several in our group have switched to the new iLet pump.

• For those with health issues who would like help at airports when flying contact TSACares.gov. Call 72 hours before flying to request help navigating the airport and security.

• The JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) has changed its name to Breakthrough T1D. Their new name reflects the increase in adults over 22 being diagnosed with T1D.

• Libre is working on a ketone sensor.

A sad note: Charla Harris, a long time pumper, passed away August 9th after several years of health issues. Charla was active in the pump club and handled our newsletter distribution for several years. Her memorial service is being planned for Saturday November 9th. Details will be in the October newsletter.

Supplies Donation Policy

We have implemented a donation policy due to the increase in supplies being brought to the meetings. Please email Margi at margit7@att.net with a list of the items you wish to share with the group. The list must be received before the 28th of the month so it can be included in the newsletter. Interested pumpers can contact Margi to request supplies. Please include the brand, model information, and expiration date. You can bring your items to the meeting or interested pumpers can email Margi and she will pass their request on to you. Any supplies remaining at the end of the meeting must go home with you and can be included in the next month's newsletter. See below for the items we have currently available.
