Hello Fellow Pumpers!
We look forward to seeing you in person if you are in the San Diego area or via Zoom.
Check out our newsletter and diabetes resources on our blog at sdinsulinpumpers.blogspot.com.
IN PERSON: We hold our in-person meeting at the Sharp Spectrum Building in Kearny Mesa at 8695 Spectrum Center Drive from 7–9 pm. We have a new meeting space at the Sharp Spectrum building. Starting in January 2025 we moved to a new boardroom on the left side of the main lobby. It has an outside direct entrance from the parking lot. The room will open at 6:30 pm for visiting before the meeting. The walkway to the outside entrance is located in front of the handicap parking and has a railing along the sidewalk.
VIA ZOOM: Please join us via Zoom if you can't attend in person. The meeting link is posted below. As always, significant others, friends, and family supporters are welcome at the meeting.
We hold our meetings on the 2nd Monday of every month from 7-9 pm.

Volunteers Needed
The newsletter will not be emailed until someone can take over the newsletter distribution. Starting in June the newsletter will be posted on our blog sdinsulinpumpers.blogspot.com by the 5th each month. It will include the meeting information and Zoom link. We need help managing the distribution of our monthly pump club newsletter. A volunteer is creating a new mailing list which should be available for use by August. We still need a volunteer to take on the emailing the monthly newsletter. This task could be shared among more than one person. Newsletter distribution is done the first week of every month, usually by the 5th. Contact Margi with any questions margit7@att.net.

THIS MONTH: Luke Bailey, Territory Manager, Melanie Johnston, Senior Clinical Territory Manager, and Tara Stantz from Medtronic pumps will speak. They will share the latest in Medtronic pumps and answer questions regarding the different pumps offered by Medtronic. This is a great opportunity to get updated. Bring your questions and concerns.
LAST MONTH: Open Discussion topics: Have a plan in case of device failure. In event of pump or CGM failure have a back up plan in place. Have test strips and a meter ready until you can get back on a sensor. Have syringes to inject insulin and discuss with your doctor the need for emergency long-acting insulin. Pump and sensor emergencies can happen on weekends when overnight shipping options can be problematic. Check pump tubing frequently when traveling by air. Air bubbles can be a problem and cause unexpected high blood sugars. Plan ahead and ask for a loaner pump when traveling outside the mainland United States.

Pump and Sensor Donations
We still have (4) boxes of 5 pens each of Tresiba long-acting insulin pens: 2 boxes expire 1/25, 1 box expires 3/25, and 1 box expires 5/25. These are great to use when taking a pump break. All will need to be picked up in Escondido. For Pumpers attending the One Conference we will have table space in the Sponsor Lounge.
Do you have Diabetes supplies you do not need that you would like to pass on? Please bring on Friday afternoon to the Sponsor Lounge after 3pm. If the supplies are not taken by 1 pm on Saturday you will need to collect as I have no space to store supplies. Supplies brought to meetings need to go home with you if not passed on to another Pumper. Contact Margi at margit7@att.com if you need any supplies.
