December Meeting: A good time was had by all who attended our Holiday Dinner at Mimi's Café.

November Meeting: Brian Rosko, Senseonics Business Manager and Melissa Karas, District Clinical Manager, presented the new implantable Eversense sensor. This new CGM device has a 3-month life span that uses a modified fluorescent molecule to detect glucose. A silicone patch attaches the transmitter to the arm over the sensor for readings.

The Eversense sensor is a great device for travel. The only supplies needed are the silicone patches that you change daily; they fit in a snack-size Ziploc bag. The sensor MARD is a very accurate 8.5%. The sensor requires calibration twice a day.

A doctor is required to insert the sensor. Insertions currently are available through Dr. Edelman at UCSD and AMCR. Contact Brian or Melissa for more information. Also, see our website under Manufacturers.
