THIS MONTH: Bring your issues and questions and get answers and support from the group.
LAST MONTH: The meeting was a lively discussion on our favorite foods to raise low Blood Sugars. Most of the group preferred a food item versus glucose tablets. Some of the favorite food items are regular Coke, OJ or Kerns juice, granola or power bars and a variety of candy from jelly beans, tootsie roll midgets, and Hot Tamales.
Glucose tabs are available at most drugstores and even at the Target pharmacy for a low price of $3.99 a bottle. For those of you that like the Glucolift tablets and thought they were out of business, we have good news. They are still making their tasty glucose tablets and selling directly to the public on their website glucolift.com.
Pre-Meeting Dinner (Souplantation): Several of us get together about 5:30 before each meeting for dinner, and all are welcome! Anyone who would like a bite of dinner before the meeting can join us at the Souplantation Restaurant in Kearny Mesa, 7095 Clairemont Mesa Boulevard (just east of 805), 858-715-6824.
Please be ready to leave the restaurant by 6:45 and proceed to Sharp so that our speakers and non-dining members are not delayed.
As always, significant others and any friends and family supporters are always welcome at the meeting. Our meetings are held the 2nd Monday of every month.

MEETING TIME: Monday, March 13th, 6:30-8:30pm
LOCATION: Sharp Medical Facility
8695 Spectrum Centre Blvd, Room 186
THIS MONTH: Learn the Ins and Outs of Afrezza, the only inhaled insulin, from Afrezza Rep Nick Boman.
LAST MONTH: We had a lively open discussion at the February meeting. Some of the topics discussed were using CGM Apps, differences in insulins, the high cost of insulin, and the importance of keeping a record of our pump settings.
Look around our website for details of studies and other interesting diabetes information.
Pre-Meeting Dinner (Souplantation): Several of us get together about 5:30 before each meeting for dinner, and all are welcome! Anyone who would like a bite of dinner before the meeting can join us at the Souplantation Restaurant in Kearny Mesa at 7095 Clairemont Mesa Boulevard (just east of 805), 858-715-6824.
Please be ready to leave the restaurant by 6:45 and proceed to Sharp so that our speakers and non-dining members are not delayed.
As always, significant others and any friends and family supporters are always welcome at the meeting. Our meetings are held the 2nd Monday of every month.

THIS MONTH: Drs. Edelman and Pettus Review Local and National Research
MEETING TIME: Monday, November 14th, 7:00-8:30pm

THIS MONTH: Dr. Steve Edelman and Dr.Jeremy Pettus will discuss the latest research and particularly the research they are currently conducting.

John discussed pattern management and the five paths to better control. He also gave us the current MARD ( mean average relative difference) of the three current CGM devices.
Medtronic 13.9%, Abbott Libre 11.4% and Dex Com 9%.
The sixth addition of Pumping Insulin is now available in print and also on Kindle, iPad, and Nook.

The Pumpers club Holiday Dinner is December 12th at the Mimi's café in Mission Valley. We have the winery room from 5 to 8 PM PLEASE RSVP to sdinsulinpumpers@gmail.com by FRIDAY DECEMBER 9 if you plan to attend so Mimi's can prepare accordingly. We invite all pumpers, friends and family to celebrate with us at Mimi's in their private dining room for a convivial meal and conversation.
