February 10th Meeting: Beta Bionics iLet Pump

Hello Fellow Pumpers!

We look forward to seeing you in person if you are in the San Diego area or via Zoom.

Also, check out our newsletter and diabetes resources on our blog at sdinsulinpumpers.blogspot.com.

IN PERSON: We hold our in-person meeting at the Sharp Spectrum Building in Kearny Mesa at 8695 Spectrum Center Drive from 7–9 pm. We have a new meeting space at the Sharp Spectrum building. Starting in January 2025 we moved to a new boardroom. It is on the left side of the main lobby and has an outside direct entrance from the parking lot. The room will open at 6:30 pm for visiting before the meeting. The walkway to the outside entrance is located in front of the handicap parking and has a railing along the sidewalk.

VIA ZOOMN: Please join us via Zoom if you can't attend in person. The meeting link is posted below.
As always, significant others, friends, and family supporters are welcome at the meeting.

We hold our meetings on the 2nd Monday of every month from 7-9 pm.

THIS MONTH: Matt Besley, Senior Territory Business Manager for Beta Bionics, will speak at our meeting in person. His presentation will give us an in-depth look at the features of the iLet pump.

LAST MONTH: John Walsh presented his 7th edition of Pumping Insulin with Automated Insulin Delivery. This edition is a must-have resource for all diabetics on a pump or who are considering starting on a pump. John's slide presentation focused on AID (Automated Insulin Delivery) pumps. His book has information on dialing in your settings, with formulas to adjust your basal rate, carb, and correction factors. These are just a few of the many tips and tricks discussed in his book. For anyone who hasn't purchased John's book, it is on sale for $21.95 on his website  http://www.diabetesnet.com. John's presentation was recorded and will be available on Diabetesnet in the near future. We will post in the newsletter when the presentation is available for viewing.

Pump and Sensor Donations

We donated all of the Diabetes supplies the Pump Club had to the fire victims in LA. Thank you to everyone who donated insulin (over 20 bottles). We still have (4) boxes of 5 pens each of Tresiba long-acting insulin pens: 2 boxes expire 1/25, 1 box expires 3/25, and 1 box expires 5/25. These are great to use when taking a pump break. All will need to be picked up in Escondido.

Contact Margi at margit7@att.com if you need any supplies.
